If you work at Learnship, your head might be in a spin with all the news flying around. But our union and our members there want to make sure that all Learnship trainers know what’s happening, what to expect, and how we keep up the solidarity!
Our members have been getting legal guidance and communicating with the administrator. Here’s everything you need to know:
• Learnship is officially insolvent as of Dec 1.
• A court-appointed insolvency administrator (Dr. Bero-Alexander Lau) is now in control.
• Learnship has been sold to goFLUENT — the buyer is a new company called GFLearnship GmbH (a goFLUENT subsidiary).
• goFLUENT already paid our October wages, and they say they intend to pay November wages in mid-December.
• If we want to continue working with the new company, we must tell them — they will contact us or we can email: [email protected]
• If we continue, our data and contract details will be transferred to GFLearnship.
• The insolvency administrator has officially terminated all contracts between us and the old Learnship.
• This means: Learnship (the old company) no longer exists as our client — only GFLearnship will continue the business.
• There will be a big creditor meeting on Feb 23, 2026, but that’s mostly for large creditors.
• Our old contracts with Learnship are legally terminated — they no longer apply.
• If we continue teaching December classes without a new agreement, it is unclear who is responsible for paying us.
• goFLUENT intends to pay November, but they have not yet guaranteed December payments.
• Until we receive written confirmation of the terms from GFLearnship (Rates, portal access, payment dates, contract terms), working December classes is a risk.
• Legally, we should not work until we have a valid agreement with the new company — otherwise we could be working without enforceable payment rights.
• If you decide to pause classes, you can simply say: “I am unable to continue until the transition is clarified with the new provider.”
Just as important to having all this information is to stay united. We know that goFluent doesn’t pay as well as Learnship did, so it’s important that we fight to maintain our current pay rate.
We need to continue to demand that trainers are included in any conversations between Learnship, the administrator, and goFluent. Our members and supporters at Learnship have elected their own staff reps and have demanded that the staff reps have a seat at the table as the process moves forward.
If you’re not already in our big WhatsApp group, it’s [email protected] to speak to an organiser and be put in contact with the rest of the Learnship trainers. Solidarity!
Hello,
I am a Learnship on-site trainer in Switzerland in the same situation as other freelance trainers – have not been paid for October/November yet and have suspended classes.
I would like to join the WhatsApp group to stay up to date on what is happening, but I have not received any reply to my request sent on 6/12 to [email protected]. Does the group still exist?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Beata
