The TEFL Workers’ Union is pleased to report that we have resolved a dispute with a Brighton-based language school.
A statement on the matter can be found below:
The TEFL Workers’ Union is proud to announce that we have resolved our dispute with Brighton Language College. At issue was a question of the circumstances around the dismissal of a seasonal admin worker and the term of employment with regards to the non-restrictive out of hours emergency phone. The matter has now reached a settlement and the worker at the centre of the dispute wishes to thank all those who offered her support and solidarity over the past months.
According to Tom Liebewitz, the chair of the TEFL Union steering committee: “It’s never easy when you have problems at work and having the backing of a union can make all the difference when it comes to a securing a successful resolution”.
If you work in a language school – whether as a teacher, admin, or any other non-managerial position – the TEFL Workers’ Union has got your back! It’s [email protected] at the first sign of trouble!
